Can I add Enprocal to both hot and cold drinks?
Yes, Enprocal is suitable for adding to hot and cold drinks. If adding Enprocal to cold drinks, you may need to stir or shake the mixture more vigorously. While the enriched drink will be more pale in colour, the taste will be largely unchanged. Enprocal is not recommended for carbonated drinks, but is suitable for juices, tea and coffee, smoothies and milkshakes. We recommend you review the Recipe page for suggestions on how to use Enprocal.
To what foods can Enprocal powder be added?
You can mix Enprocal into soft foods such as apple sauce, pudding or yogurt, or use it in recipes for muffins, pikelets and scones. You can also add Enprocal to soup and casseroles. Remember not to add it during the cooking phase, or when the ingredients are very hot, as it may curdle. We recommend you review the Recipe page for suggestions on how to use Enprocal.
Does cooking with Enprocal alter the characteristics of the product?
As with most foods and food supplements, some water-soluble vitamins can be partially de-natured at higher temperatures. However, the main features of the product remain nutritionally intact under normal conditions. Food and beverages fortified with Enprocal will take on a lighter appearance. For foods already light in colour (milk, porridge, custard, etc.) colour change is barely, if at all, noticeable. Enprocal is flavour neutral and imparts no discernable taste. Enprocal is not a thickener but may have a slight thickening effect in high concentrations.
I stirred Enprocal into hot soup and it became ‘thready’. Why? Will it harm me to drink it?
Because Enprocal is high in dairy based proteins, high temperatures can make the mixture curdle. However, only the soup’s appearance was affected – not the quality and taste – and it will not present any health or safety concerns. Best to remember when adding Enprocal to hot food and drinks, allow it to cool a little before stirring in Enprocal.

Enprocal is not harmful to the very young, but because of the product’s high nutrient density it is not recommended for persons under the ages of 4 - 5 years.
